The shield is a Lion and Sun on a red trimount with an indented/dancetty green chief that makes it look like hills in the distance, while looking like the Qajar flag. Green symbolizes joy, happiness, and the lush forests of Northern Iran, white represents peace, freedom, and the deserts of Iran, red represents martyrdom and the Southern Iranian warmth. The crowns are the Kiani Crown, the crown the Qajars used.

The inscription on the shield reads "Ala inna naṣra Āllahi qarīb", or "Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.). The ribbon says "Ξέρει τι υπάρχει σε κάθε καρδιά", or "He knows what is in every heart"

A Greater coat of arms for the Islamic Republic of Iran. The main charge is the Nishan Rasmi, which says the Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) in the shape of a tulip, national flower of Iran. The collar is the Order of Islamic Revolution, and the motto states "استقلال، آزادی، جمهوری اسلامی" (Independence, Freedom, the Islamic Republic), and the reason for the crescent and star (or crescent and sun) is a reference to the Sassanid crescent and star/sun symbol.

Vert, an emblem consisting of four crescents and a sword palewise, surmounted by a shadda argent. Or, an alternative blazon would be: vert, a Nishan Rasmi argent. The green represents Islam and the land of Iran, and white would represent peace and strength. The Nishan Rasmi, the emblem, says "La Illaha Illa Allah" (There is no diety but Allah) in the shape of a tulip, national flower of Iran. The slogan says "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is Great), and is a slogan to mean that God is above the state.

The blue bicephalous eagle would be a reference to the Sultanate of Rum/Seljuk Empire, and also representing Rumelia (European Turkey, Edirne/Corlu/Gelibolu area), and Anatolia (everything else), looking both east and west. The motto on V1 (Yurtta Sulh, Cihanda Sulh) translate to "Peace at home, Peace in the world", the motto on V2 (Ne Mutlu Türküm Diyene) translates to How happy is one who says I am a Turk.

Red represents Oghuz Turkic lineage and blood of the martyrs that were killed in the Siege of Constantinople, yellow represents imperial authority and wealth. The Wreath represents Roman continuity and successorship, and the coat of arms (which is modified) represents Ottoman power and complexity.
