Beatrice’s Memory Echoes Part 3 (2nd Half)

Image 1

Before, Beatrice fought with some caution. But now, she’s fighting more recklessly, even shrugging off incoming attacks. The finesse and grace she possessed is no more. She fights with pure anger and ferocity, like a vicious rampaging demon. With every last ounce of her strength, she eliminates several invading waves of Lost. But despite her impressive display of power, she still has limits. And she’s beginning to reach them…

Image 2

Beatrice: “Haaa…! Haaa…! Haaaa….” Beatrice can barely catch her breath. Even with her large reserves of stamina, she’s getting exhausted. And it doesn’t help that she’s sustained too many injuries. Just as she tries to step forward,

Image 3

Her knees buckle, and she collapses.

Beatrice: “Ggh…! GRRR…!!!”

No! No! Not now…! I need to get back up! I need to keep fighting…! For Captain Callahan!

Beatrice yells at herself internally as she desperately forces herself to stand back on her feet. But shortly after she stands,

Image 4

a Lost swiftly slashes her.

Beatrice: “Guagh…?!” From behind her purifier mask, Beatrice coughs up blood. The Lost’s blade made a deep, lethal cut across her torso. Though Beatrice’s sense of pain has been dulled, she can feel her strength and life force rapidly fading from this severe injury.

Image 5

Beatrice: “Cap… ta… agh…”

Beatrice starts to fall down, landing on her side. Her vision begins to darken.

Image 6

As she lays collapsed on the cold hard ground, the Lost is about to plunge its blade into Beatrice’s heart.

No… It can’t… end like this…..

Image 7

???: “You’ll pay for that! Raaaagh!!!” Suddenly, a young man yells angrily, and intercepts the Lost with a jumping attack.

That voice… No, is that really…?!

Image 8

Beatrice’s eyes close for a few seconds. In the darkness, she hears the clanging of blades, followed by bayonet gunshots. When she opens her eyes, the Lost that would have ended her life has been defeated. And standing in front of her, is the young man who arrived at the last minute. Just before he can cast a Restorative Offering, Beatrice’s body begins to disperse.

???: “Damn it…! I didn’t get here on time, but at least you’re not turning to ashes…” He says in a regretful manner.

Ma… Master!

Though his appearance is different from how she remembers him, Beatrice recognizes this young man’s voice as Akira’s.

Master… W-Wait! Don’t go…!

She desperately reaches out her hand towards him with tears in her eyes. But then, her body completely disperses…

Image 9

Beatrice: “….. Ahhhh…”

With her eyelids slowly opening, Beatrice lets out a quiet groan. LED light enters her tired eyes. Lying down in bed, she stares at the ceiling in a daze. A ceiling that isn’t unfamiliar to her. She’s in a medical unit of the research center.

What happened…? Was I… crying…?

Beatrice wonders. Though there are no tears on her face, she seems to remember crying. It’s then that another memory creeps into her mind.

Captain…

She remembers the fate of Captain Callahan. As she reminisces, Beatrice doesn’t notice that someone has entered her hospital room.

???: “Looks like you’ve finally awoken, Ms Madison.” A familiar, emotionless voice greets Beatrice.

Image 10

Beatrice: “Dr. Anna…?” Beatrice asks as she sits herself up from bed. Standing across the room is indeed Anna.

Anna: “So you still remember me. Although, I’m not technically a doctor.” Anna remarks.

Anna: “Do you remember how you got here?” She asks Beatrice.

Beatrice: “I believe I do… The invasion of Lost nearly breached our defenses. Me, Captain Callahan, and the rest of our team fought hard to keep them at bay. But… Captain Callahan… was turned to ash…”

Anna: “Yes… Unfortunately, we lost a very good soldier.” She speaks with a hint of remorse in her tone.

Beatrice: “… I did the best I could to repel them, but there were just too many Lost. I was overwhelmed, and one of them managed to kill me…” Beatrice recounts these events. She clutches her stomach, the same spot where the Lost had slashed her. And then, a thought occurs to Beatrice.

Am I… forgetting something…?

Beatrice wonders. However, she can’t recall anything else that happened after the moment she received her fatal wound. Her face then sours.

Well, whatever it was that I forgot, there’s no sense dwelling on it now. That memory will be lost with no hope of ever returning…

Anna: “You did well. You were the last Revenant standing before some of our forces returned. If it wasn’t for you, Callahan, and the rest of your team who stayed to guard the research facility, this operation could have taken a turn for the worse.” Anna gives genuine praise to Beatrice.

Anna: “It was thanks in part to you, that this operation finally reached its conclusion.”

Beatrice: “… What? Operation Queenslayer… is over?” Beatrice asks, shocked to hear this.

Anna: “Ah, I didn’t get the chance to inform you. You were asleep for a few days. Even with your regenerative abilities, you ran yourself quite ragged during that invasion. During the time that you were resting, a team of Revenants had managed to locate the Queen. Together, along with Silva himself, they had managed to slay the Queen.” Anna brings Beatrice up to speed.

Beatrice: “That’s… wonderful news.” Beatrice says with relief.

Anna: “It certainly is. With the Queen gone, it’s one less problem that we need to worry about…” Anna turns around and is about to leave the room.

Anna: “I’ll come back in a moment to give you a proper check up. Just rest and relax for the time being.”

Beatrice: “Okay...”

Anna exits. Beatrice then lays back down on the bed, slowly closing her eyes.

Operation Queenslayer is over… If that’s the case, then I no longer need to stay here and fight… Which means, I can go look for Master Akira…

When Beatrice remembers her goal, she also remembers the promise Callahan made to her. Sadly, he won’t be joining her search.

Captain… Forgive me…..

Image 11

The day after Beatrice wakes up, she meets with Gregorio Silva to have an important talk.

Silva: “Beatrice Madison. What can I do for you?” He asks her in a courteous tone.

Beatrice: “Sir Silva… Now that Operation Queenslayer is over, would you permit me to leave your forces?” She asks him politely.

Silva: “… May I ask what your reason is?”

Beatrice: “There’s someone that I wish to find. Someone dear to me… I don’t know where exactly he can be located, or if he’s even alive. But… I need to go find him.” Beatrice explains.

Silva: “I see…” Silva takes a brief moment to make his decision.

Silva: “You’re a very talented soldier, Ms Madison. I would prefer you stay in our ranks. But, considering how hard you’ve fought during this operation, it’s only fair that your efforts should be rewarded. You’re free to go wherever you want.”

Beatrice: “Thank you, Sir Silva.” Beatrice says sincerely as she bows to him.

Silva: “I wish you luck finding whoever it is you’re looking for. If you run into trouble, you can always return here. There are many corpses we’ve recovered and implanted with BOR Parasites that have yet to awaken. If he’s not a surviving human, then he may awaken someday as a Revenant.”

Beatrice: “Oh, indeed. I’ll be sure to pay a visit regardless of whether I can find him or not.”

Image 12

After receiving survival supplies including reserves of blood vials, Beatrice makes her departure from the Research Center to disembark on her journey.

Beatrice: “It won’t be an easy search, but surely I’ll be able to find Master Akira.” Beatrice says to herself.

Image 13

Beatrice: “I don’t know how badly the Rojo Manor was damaged from the Great Collapse, but I’ll check there first. If it hasn’t been completely destroyed, then perhaps Master is taking shelter there.”

Months later…

Beatrice: “Okay… That’s the 5th human shelter I’ve visited, and still no sign of Master Akira… I should return to the provisional government center like Silva suggested. If Akira became a revenant, perhaps I’ll find him there.”

Years later…

Beatrice: “He has to be somewhere…! Someone must have seen him… I have to keep searching. Surely I’ll run into him somewhere. Eventually…?”

Image 14

An unknown amount of time later…

Beatrice: “…….” Beatrice stands still, staring off into the horizon. The look on her face is devoid of any hope, any enthusiasm that she had at the start of her search. Her face only displays sadness.

Beatrice: “Master Akira… Will I ever find you…..?” She asks out loud with a depressed voice.

The memory echo concludes here. Akira and Beatrice return to the present.

Image 15

Akira: “…”

Beatrice: “…”

Silence stretches between Akira and Beatrice for several moments. It seems they weren’t prepared to witness these tragic memories.

Image 16

Akira: “I can’t believe it…!” Then, Akira breaks the silence, speaking with a frustrated voice as he covers his face with his hand.

Akira: “You were right there in front of me! But I didn’t have my memories of you back then, so I couldn’t recognize you… Grrr!” He grumbles.

Akira: “I’m sorry…” He says to Beatrice softly.

Beatrice: “No, it’s not your fault, Master. It’s not as if we can choose which memories we keep...” Beatrice responds calmly.

Akira: “And I’m so sorry that I wasn’t able to help you in time during that invasion…” Akira can’t help but apologize for what happened to Beatrice.

Beatrice: “Don’t apologize. If you didn’t arrive at all, then I would have been turned to ash by that Lost…”

Akira: “… Still, I wish you didn’t have to wander alone for so long… Not knowing where I was or if I was even alive… It must have been so hard for you. I’m sorry…” Akira gives Beatrice another sincere apology.

Beatrice: “It’s alright, Master.” Beatrice responds in a stern tone.

Beatrice: “It’s… alright.” Though she says this, a small tear sheds from her eye.

Beatrice: “Now please, s-stop apologizing.” She urges him.

Akira: “Beatrice…” Akira only feels more remorse seeing her this sad.

Beatrice: “Ah… Pardon me.” Beatrice realizes that she’s crying, then takes out her handkerchief.

Beatrice: “Reliving those particular memories wasn’t easy for me…” She takes a moment to wipe her face dry.

Beatrice: “Especially remembering what happened to Captain Callahan…”

Image 17

Beatrice’s slowly tilts her head down at the floor. Her eyelids shut.

Beatrice: “I shouldn’t have listened to his order to separate. I should have stayed with him. If I did, then he wouldn’t have been overwhelmed by those Lost. He could have survived that invasion…!” Beatrice laments her decision.

Akira: “… It’s a shame that he died, but you did the right thing. If you didn’t guard that opening, those Lost could have poured in and ravaged the facility.” Akira tries to reassure her.

Akira: “Callahan trusted you to defend the facility, and you upheld his trust.“

Beatrice: “… I know… It’s just… I never got to properly thank Callahan. For giving me his guidance, for helping me learn to adapt to life on the battlefield. And for being a kind companion…” Beatrice says with sorrow.

Beatrice: “At the very least, I wanted to treat him to tea and cookies as a small token of my appreciation. But now that can never happen…”

Akira: “… No. Callahan is no longer with us. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t thank him.”

Beatrice: “But… How?”

Akira: “Callahan wanted you to survive Operation Queenslayer. Right? He wanted you to reunite with the people you love, and to live a peaceful life. So, you can show your appreciation to him by living on, doing what you set out to do after the operation ended. That’s how you’ll thank him.” Akira says thoughtfully.

Akira: “And you’re already doing that. Aren’t you? You finally got to reunite with your dear Master, and you’re serving me like old times…” Akira flashes Beatrice a playful smile.

Beatrice: “… Oh, Master…” Slowly, Beatrice’s glum expression begins to uplift.

Image 18

Beatrice closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.

Beatrice: “… Yes, you’re right. That is how I can thank him. Not by dwelling on the past, but by living the best life that I can.” Beatrice says in a calm voice. Her eyes then open.

Beatrice: “Also, I’ll carry on his will, as a way to honor his memory. Captain Callahan wasn’t just fighting for my sake, but for everyone’s. He was fighting to restore the world to normal. I already strive for the same, but now I’m more motivated to accomplish that.”Beatrice pumps her fist as she declares this.

Akira: “You’re not the only one. I’m fighting for the same thing, so I’ll be right by your side to make that happen.” Akira says encouragingly, and pumps his fist as well.

Beatrice: “… Master Akira, and Lady Io. As always, I’m ever grateful to you for restoring my lost memories.” Beatrice gives them a heartfelt thanks, then bows. Io gives Beatrice a nod.

Akira: “You’re very welcome, Beatrice.”

Akira crosses his arms, and becomes lost in his thoughts for a moment. Beatrice notices his behavior, causing a metaphorical question mark to appear above her head.

Akira: “… By the way. Since you mentioned cookies before, I remembered that I haven’t had your snickerdoodles in a while… Would it be okay if I asked you to bake some?” Akira politely asks for this request. In response, Beatrice flashes a smile at Akira.

Beatrice: “It would be my pleasure, Master.”

Akira then glances at Io.

Akira: “And of course, bake plenty for Io, too.”

Beatrice: “Oh, I certainly will.”

Image 19

Io slightly tilts her head.

Io: “I’ve never tried snicker… doodles before… What are they like?” Io asks Akira curiously.

Akira: “One of the best cookies I’ve ever had. And the ones Beatrice bakes, are amazing…” Akira explains fondly.

Akira: “Do you want to have some tea with me while we wait for the cookies?” Akira offers Io courteously.

Io: “Yes. That sounds nice.” Io answers with a slight smile.

Akira: “Great. Maybe we can try that new blend Mia and Eva made.”

Beatrice: “How lovely… She isn’t as reserved as she was before.” Beatrice remarks.

Akira, Beatrice, and Io spend the late day drinking tea and eating freshly baked snickerdoodles. Louis, Yakumo, Mia, along with Jack and Eva are attracted by the sweet smell and stop by to join them. Akira certainly didn’t exaggerate about cookies being amazing.

Beatrice’s Memory Echoes Part 3 (1st Half)

Shortly after entering the outskirts of the Provisional Government Center, Akira faintly hears the voice of a woman in distress. It sounded eerily familiar. After looking for it, he found the source of the voice. It was from a vestige part. And along the way, he came across a second vestige part, containing a voice he could clearly recognize. Beatrice’s voice. Despite the situation at hand, Akira chooses to make a detour. He returns to home base, where he informs Beatrice and Io of his findings. Always willing to help, Io proceeds to repair another of Beatrice’s vestiges.

Andromeda Vestige III

Image 2

It’s taken me some time, but I’ve adapted quite well to Operation Queenslayer. Overtime, being dispatched on a mission felt no different from taking on my housekeeping duties. And eliminating Lost became second nature to me. No matter how powerful or threatening a Lost appeared, I could take them on without hesitation. Learning how to overcome my fears turned me into a very capable soldier. And knowing just how strong I truly am gave me much needed confidence.

Image 3

Unfortunately, even with my strength and all the skills I developed, I wasn’t a perfect soldier. Though I’d rather not admit it, I’ve had a few slip ups. Slip ups, which led to my death…

Image 4

Some time after Beatrice died and dispersed on the battlefield, her body regenerated, close to the Research Facility. She was found unconscious by fellow Revenants, who brought her back to the facility to get a check up. After being cleared to return to battle by researcher Karen Amamiya, Beatrice exits the medical tent.

Beatrice: “I need to be more careful next time…” Beatrice says to herself in a self condemning manner.

Callahan: “Hey. Glad you’re awake now.”Waiting outside of the tent, Callahan greets Beatrice.

Callahan: “Are you feeling better?” He asks her.

Beatrice: “Ah, Captain. Yes, I’m fine. Thank you for asking. I feel… as if nothing happened to me.” Beatrice responds. She briefly looks at her hands.

Beatrice: “This isn’t even my first revival, but I still can’t believe how it feels to come back to life. It’s quite strange…”

Callahan: “And to think you were so scared about dying just a few months ago. Now you’re not worried about death as much.” Callahan remarks.

Beatrice: “Ahahah…” Beatrice lets out an embarrassed laugh and slightly averts her gaze.

Beatrice: “I was more scared about losing my few remaining memories. But thankfully, my deaths haven’t made me forget any important memories. I still remember my master.”

Callahan: “Your master? Oh, that’s right. You said that you were a house maid before the Great Collapse.”

Beatrice nods.

Callahan: “Is your master really that important to you?”

Beatrice: “Indeed he is. He is a kind young man who has always treated me with respect and appreciation. And though our relationship was initially professional, our bond blossomed into a peaceable friendship.” Beatrice speaks fondly of her master.

Image 5

Beatrice: “I hope that he’s either survived The Great Collapse, or at the very least he can be revived as a Revenant.” Beatrice says as she clasps her hands together.

Beatrice: “I hope that I can see him again someday, and serve him once more…” She says longingly.

Callahan: “… Beatrice. When this is all over, once the Queen has been slain, I’ll help you find your Master.” Callahan declares confidently.

Beatrice: “Oh? I appreciate that. But, you don’t have to go out of your way for me.”

Callahan: “Well, I want to. In fact, I want to help my other comrades reunite with their loved ones too. It will be my way of showing my appreciation for all of their hard work and effort fighting in this war.” Callahan says in a solemn tone.

Beatrice: “That’s very noble of you… Well, if that’s what you wish, then I will humbly accept your assistance.” Beatrice says graciously. Callahan gives her nod. A smile forms on Beatrice’s face, but her purifier mask covers it.

Beatrice: “And perhaps, I could return the favor by helping you find any of your loved ones.” Beatrice kindly offers. However, Callahan doesn’t appear to be interested in this offer.

Callahan: “… There’s no need. There’s no one out there waiting for me.” He says in a serious tone.

Beatrice: “Oh… Are you certain?”

Callahan: “I’m sure.”

Having said this, Callahan takes out a photo from his pocket. He shows it to Beatrice.

Image 6

Callahan: “This is my wife, Kayla. We both died during the Great Collapse. After I was revived as a Revenant, I asked the researchers if Kayla had been turned into a Revenant too. But, her heart rejected the BOR Parasite, and didn’t survive the transformation process…” Callahan recounts in a glum tone.

Beatrice: “How awful… I’m so sorry for your loss…” Beatrice says in an empathetic tone, and looks at Kayla’s photo with sorrow.

There is a momentary silence between the two. Afterwards, Callahan takes a deep breath, putting away the photo of Kayla back into his pocket. He turns around from Beatrice.

Image 7

Callahan: “I won’t have anyone waiting for me once this is all over. But, it’s alright.” The bitterness in Callahan’s voice begins to vanish.

Callahan: “As long as I can save others from this tragedy, that will be enough to keep me going. No matter how bleak our lives get, I’ll keep pushing onward. It’s what she would’ve wanted me to do.” Callahan says with a determined voice.

Beatrice: “Captain…”

Callahan: “… Be careful from here on out.” He warns her in a stern tone.

Callahan: “We’re immortal, but we’re not invincible. I want you to survive, and I want you to live peacefully after this operation is over.” Callahan turns his head slightly to look at Beatrice.

Callahan: “Understood?”

Beatrice: “… Understood.” Beatrice responds to him with a nod.

Beatrice: “And captain.”

Callahan: “Yes?”

Beatrice: “For the sake of everyone we have lost, and for the sake of everyone putting their lives on the line in this war, I will help bring it to an end.” Beatrice says with determination.

Beatrice: “Together, we will slay the Queen. And together, we will forge a path to a brighter future!” She boldly declares while pumping her fist.

Callahan: “… That’s the spirit.” Though she can’t see it because of his purifier mask, Callahan is giving Beatrice a smile. The two then part ways for the day.

It’s a shame that he lost his wife… Perhaps, there’s another way I can show him my gratitude. I haven’t been in a kitchen in a while, so I hopefully my skills haven’t gotten rusty.

Beatrice comes up with a new plan during her free time…

Image 8

Several days later, Beatrice and Callahan meet with Silva. A scout has reported back with some troubling news.

Baxter: “I’m not exaggerating when I say that we’re facing a massive invasion!” Baxter speaks urgently.

Baxter: Hundreds of Lost are mobilizing towards the Research Facility. From both the Northern and North Eastern sectors. They’ll arrive in less than an hour…” He says with worry in his voice. Silva lets out a sigh after hearing this report.

Silva: “That’s barely enough time to prepare… It‘s a good thing you were able to get back here fast enough to warn us.”

Baxter: “What should our course of action be, sir?”

Silva: “We need to send as many of our forces to intercept the hordes coming from the Northern and North Eastern Sectors. But we’ll keep some of our forces stationed here to guard the facility, in case any Lost slip through. Send word to Senior Officer Ironside. I’ll need her assistance with coordinating our deployments.”

Baxter: “Understood!” After receiving Silva’s order, Baxter hastily leaves to find Officer Ironside.

Silva: “… Alexander Callahan.” Silva turns to face him.

Silva: “I need you and your team to stay behind to guard the Research Facility. I’m sure a stalwart soldier like you will be well suited for this task.” Silva then looks at Beatrice.

Silva: “And with the mighty Ms Madison at your side, I’m certain you’ll have all the power you need to defend the facility.”

Callahan: “Understood, sir.” Callahan gives Silva a stern nod.

Beatrice: “We’ll do our utmost to protect the facility.” Beatrice also nods.

Silva: “Good. Then get moving.”

Beatrice and Callahan quickly disembark to the facility outskirts. Their team follows behind them.

Image 9

Despite the Revenant forces’ best efforts to combat the Lost invasion, there are too many. Numerous Lost manage to get past the intercepting squads and continue straight for the Research Facility. Beatrice and Callahan prepare to defend the facility against the incoming Lost.

Callahan: “Our team will cover the lower grounds of the battlefield, and the two of us will handle the West area of the storehouse.”

Beatrice: “Ah! Here they come…”

Beatrice alerts Callahan to the incoming wave of Lost.

Image 10

Callahan: “I’ll take lead. Take down any Lost that get past me. Don’t let a single one reach the Facility!”

Beatrice: “I’ll make sure I eliminate all of them!”

Callahan: “Good. Then let’s do this! Haaaaa!!!” Callahan lets out a battle cry as he charges at the wave of Lost.

Image 11

Callahan: “Down you go!” Callahan shouts as he rushes the Hammer Wielding Lost and drives it off of the cliffside. A halberd wielding Lost runs past Callahan and goes after Beatrice.

Beatrice: “I’ll split you in half!” Beatrice shouts as she cuts the Lost clean in half with a strong downward swing of her halberd. Beatrice and Callahan easily defeat more of the wave.

Beatrice: “Hra!” Beatrice launches a Lost in the air.

Callahan: “Die!” Callahan uses his ogre claw to finish off a Lost and replenish his Ichor. As the pair eliminate more Lost, Callahan notices that there are several Lost rushing in from the lower right pathway. Their numbers are increasing…

Callahan: “Beatrice! They’re trying to get through the storehouse by taking the lower path! You take care of them, and I’ll handle the upper path!” Callahan orders her.

For a brief moment, Beatrice hesitates to comply.

Beatrice: “… Very well!”

But ultimately, she obeys Callahan’s order. The pair split up to combat the Lost coming in through each path.

Callahan: “Grrr! That’s all?!” Callahan guards against a spear wielding Lost’s swing, then counter attacks. After defeating it, he pushes through the rest of the wave.

Beatrice: “Hiyah!” Beatrice leaps down the path, and strikes at the Lost with a hefty swing. The speed and momentum make her attack much stronger, and she easily defeats it.

Callahan: Hraaa! Out of my sight!” Callahan eliminates 3 Lost simultaneously with Shadow Assault’s wide ranging slash.

Beatrice: “Nice try!” Beatrice leaps over Lost’s incoming thrust attack. Stepping off the back of its sword, Beatrice gives herself a boost, then unleashes a diving thrust with her spear, destroying the Lost with a skilled maneuver.

Callahan: “Haaa!” Callahan continues to hold his own against the waves of Lost, eliminating them one by one as they try to swarm him.

Beatrice: “Begone!” Beatrice handles herself well against the waves of Lost, felling more of them. Her mighty strength is serving her well in this skirmish.

Beatrice and Callahan continue to successfully defend the facility. They lose count of the Lost they’ve eliminated.

Callahan: “Take this… you fiends!” Callahan continues to fight tenaciously.

Beatrice: “Hup!” Beatrice uses her Halberd to boost herself up to the battlefield, as if performing a pole vault. Before the hammer wielding Lost can attack her,

Beatrice: “Hraaa!” Beatrice slices it in half.

Image 12

Beatrice: “Haaa… There’s still so many Lost…” Beatrice takes a brief moment to catch her breath.

Beatrice: “Hopefully we can hold out just a little longer-”

As Beatrice says this, she faintly hears a groan coming from behind her. She turns around to survey her surroundings. When she looks up to the cliffside, she witnesses a gruesome scene.

Beatrice: “Ah?!”

Image 13

Captain Callahan, has been stabbed in the chest by a spear wielding Lost. He stands frozen in place, until his body begins to discolor and crumble. He isn’t dispersing. His body, is turning to ash.

No…

Beatrice watches powerlessly as her captain turns into a pile of ash. The damage inflicted on him destroyed his heart. And as a result, his BOR parasite, the source of a Revenant’s immortality, is also destroyed. Bringing true death to Alexander Callahan.

Beatrice: “… Aaaaaa…..” Beatrice’s heart begins to pound. This is the first time she’s witnessed a Revenant perish this way. She stands still, staring at the remains of Callahan. She can faintly see the corner of Kayla’s photo, which Callahan always carried on him.

Image 14

Beatrice: “… Foul… Vile… Wretched Lost…!” She says with a voice full of anger. Her eyelids shut. Her breathing accelerates.

Image 15

Beatrice: “I swear… I’ll kill every last one of you!!!” As she declares this, her eyelids quickly open, revealing glowing red irises.

Image 16

Beatrice: “RAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!!!” Beatrice lets out an enraged howl. Adrenaline surges through her, reaching heights she has never felt before. A pulse of energy radiates from her body.

Image 17

Beatrice jumps high into the air, and simultaneously uses Savage Dive, allowing her to reach the Lost who mercilessly killed Callahan.

Lost: “Ggggragh?!” The Lost groans in pain when Beatrice’s halberd violently impales its chest. Then, Beatrice forcefully rips her polearm out of the Lost. And now, she winds her Halberd back.

Beatrice: “HRAAAAAGHHH!!!” Beatrice lets out a ferocious scream as she swings her halberd with full force, decapitating the Lost. Blood gushes out from its neck, then the Lost’s body disperses.

Beatrice: “Haaa… Haaa…” Despite Beatrice’s senses being heightened from her skyrocketing adrenaline, her rage distracts her from the sound of footsteps approaching her.

Image 18

By the time she turns her head and notices it, a Lost has already swung its sword at Beatrice.

Beatrice: “Aaaaagh!!” Beatrice is flung off of the cliff from the Lost’s attack.

Image 19

She falls and lands flat on her back.

Beatrice: “Gaaahhh!!!” She screams from having the wind knocked out of her, gasping momentarily. Beatrice slowly stands up from the ground, seemingly unfazed by the pain she endured from falling down from a high place.

Beatrice: “Gggh… Ah…” When Beatrice opens her eyes, she sees another group of Lost in the distance. They spot her, and move in to intercept her.

Beatrice: “Is there any end in sight to this damn invasion…?” Beatrice says frustratedly.

Beatrice: “… No matter. I’ll just have to keep fighting until you’re all dead!” She says fiercely.

Image 20

Beatrice: “COME AND GET IT!!!”Beatrice braces herself for another long battle, and charges at the group of Lost.
