Liftmaster Button Requires Two Presses to Close (Usually)

I have two Liftmaster garage door openers side by side (one for a 3rd car smaller door and one for the primary door). Both units are the same model, and the wall buttons are mounted side-by-side.

I'd say 70% of the time, the main garage door button requires you to press it twice to close the door. It only requires the double press when closing. It always works on the first press when opening. Some additional facts below:

  • It has nothing to do with how hard or long I press the button. I can mash it or hold it for a second, but it almost always requires that second push.
  • The other opener on my 3rd car garage works on the first press everytime.
  • The car remotes and the keypad on the outside always work on the first press.
  • The sensors do not show any obstructions.
  • The garage door company replaced the wall button with a different one and it still does the same thing.

Has anyone else run into this and was able to fix it? This garage door opener is brand new.
