My local gun store takes care of me because I do business with them all the time. When I returned the 226 with the broken mag release, they gave me back all my money and as a store credit, they let me use just 50 🫘🫘 and I got this P220 with three new in the box SIG mags. Not West German but the frame and slide are both stamped made in Germany.Have already put 200rds through with no issues and love it.
Got a set of Warren fiber optic sights coming in soon.
Once I reach 1,000rds in the next few weeks, I may swap this to my church carry over my HK P30(regular EDC).

Just got a German made 226 from my LGS after wanting one since I was a kid. Mag release was swapped for a lefty and the groove on the left side of the frame had a bunch of material filled into it for some reason that was preventing install. Wasn’t a big deal, I carefully scraped it out with a small flathead and a dental pick to swap for a right handed release.

Everything went in hassle free and did a function test with snap caps, no issues. Put 15rds of 115gr Fiocci through it later today to test fire and when I went to hit the mag release, it popped out, I lost the catch stop and stop spring and there’s now this chip in the frame.

Can a gunsmith repair this or should I see if SIG will repair/replace my frame? I can weld but I would not risk it myself.

I’ve done all the mods(aftermarket installs, polish work, etc) on my Beretta 92 Centurion, HK USPs and P30s and 3rd Gen S&Ws with no issues and don’t know if I did something seriously wrong here.
