Since you guys know a lot about BMWs, I wanted to ask something.

This is my first car, and I just got a brand new 2026 BMW X5 M60i with 0 miles from the dealership. I’ve been wondering — is there actually a break-in period I should follow?

Like, do I need to drive gently, keep it under certain RPMs, avoid flooring it, etc.? Or is that outdated advice?

Because when I talked to the dealership, they told me I can basically floor it and “unleash the V8,” and even said it’s healthier for the engine.

Just trying to understand what’s actually best long-term. Would appreciate any advice 🙏
