From neglect to transformation:
We found our girl, Jin, while driving down the highway near our home December 2023. She was on the shoulder of that HW, was balding in several places, & had the worst hot spots I'd ever seen - & I work with animals.
A woman in the home right by where I found her let me know that she belonged to a business owner just down the road, but they didn't take proper care of her or her companion who'd just been hit and killed not long before. We had her go to a shelter an hour away so it was harder for the 'owner' to find her, waited out her hold, then paid about $200 to adopt her formally so no one could ever claim her from us.
The first photo is of her when I found her & took her where I worked for the night, and the second is her most recently. 💜 We love her so fucking much, & I'm so glad she chose *me* to run to after refusing to go to others, as I later learned on NextDoor & through people I met in the area.
