What kind of shrimp is this?

What kind of shrimp is this?

It’s been hard to get a good picture (how you people get such cool clear pictures?!?) but I️ have this lovely gal who is dark blue on her front half and then almost clear like a snowball down her tail. I️ think she’s just the coolest - is this a specific type or just a rando? She game in a skittles pack.

Count the snowballs

Just for fun, how many tiny snowballs can you spot on the cucumber buffet tonight?

Teeny tiny lil snow balls

Three teeny tiny snowballs sitting on the a leaf. (Not pictured: the three sitting on the leaf behind them and the one sitting on the leaf next theirs that were just too tiny and blending in to see) 🥰

I️ have these two tanks that literally sit right next to each other and one is doing great and the other seems to be a shrimp killer…
One is a 3 gallon hydroponic with sponge filter and heater. The pump for the filter deposits the water in the upper white chamber where the pothos roots are, and then circulates back down in kind of a rain-like drip. This tank has been running for multiple years and has housed a variety of small fish and currently has a nerite snail who has been a longtime resident. Live plants are growing just fine. Shrimp though… they last a few weeks and then start to kick it. I’ve tried multiple times, first with just a two adult shrimp, then tried a slightly larger group, and one even arrived berried and had babies but they all started dying again. I️ transferred the remaining shrimp to the bowl next door and everybody is surviving and thriving.

There’s no visible signs of pests - Planaria or nymphs or anything like that.

Edit to add: water parameters consistently test within normal/ideal ranges

So how do I️ fix the small one? Should I️ just dump it and start over? Maybe try different substrate rather than crappy blue gravel? Or do I️ just bail and call it a total loss? Any suggestion welcome!

Baby snowballs are so fun because they’re basically invisible until you get the perfect angle
