(UK) Transformer Hum [Tapo smart doorbell]
Tldr: Damn transformer hum.. 😭
I've installed a Tapo smart doorbell to replace an old Deta chime. The Deta was wired off the mains and the chime unit had a built in transformer.
I've installed a BG transformer, set to 12v, within a Wylex box and all is working well - except for that damn transformer hum. (I've tried two Wylex boxes with no luck of noise reduction).
Unfortunately, the transformer is installed in the hallway due to the short wiring run originally installed.
I'm struggling to believe that other households with hardwired smart doorbells put up with the hum.
Is there anything that can be done to reduce the hum noise?
TIA
