So, I originally came out to KC for football at MidAmerica with a friend of mine. I met some lifelong friends in college but left out of there in 04 to come back home to California. Some of those friendships remain, other don't of course, its only been 22 years. Right? My old roommate and best friend talk about those glory days regular and always played with the idea of going back to visit but never made it.

Well, this is year is the year.

My BF is across the country now, and were in our late 40's, and I'm planning a destination birthday with about 4 other couples coming in from all over the country. Its a central point so I think it'll be easy for everyone to travel in from the west coast, south, and east coasts, not to mention connect with a couple old friends that still live in the KC area.

I'm so excited.

My immediate ideas are to do the old things we used to do. Hit up Westport (the Hurricane! Have a Nice Day Cafe! - which I'm sure are long gone lol), maybe drive out to Lawrence (KU), visit our old campus, etc.

I'm actively researching fun things to do for 40+ folks but would like some input from those who are boots on the ground and have an active social life in the city. Although we are in our 40's we still like to hang out like we did in our 20's - do people ever really change?

We're young souls and a diverse group so any advice would be appreciated.

Maybe I'll see ya'll around town this summer!

Thanks!
