I am not a germaphobe by any means, but since returning to office 5 days/week last year, I have been particularly aware of when co workers come into work with a cold or feel unwell. I try not to judge because it could always be known allergies, but I also have the benefit of knowing their sick leave balances (as a Manager). I haven’t told anyone I’m pregnant yet (I am 9 weeks, was thinking I would wait until 12 to share), but one of my employees sounded a slight bit congested yesterday. They woke up today with a headache but would like to sleep in, rest, and come in a few hours later.

I am now a little paranoid about getting sick since I always read pregnancy is a risk factor and your immune system is lower. I so badly want to encourage this person to stay home, but I realize it’s their individual choice and me telling them I am pregnant would likely be inappropriate since it would imply they should stay home just for my sake. Any experience dealing with this? Am I making this a bigger deal than it is to get sick while pregnant?
