Hey y’all fellow sprinters!
So I’ve always loved sprinting ever since I was a kid, I still remember watching the 2012 olympics, that was my first ever time finding out that Usain Bolt exists, and oh boy that he was fun and exciting to watch.
About two months ago I got into my first athletics comp and my 100 meter dash was about 11.9s, I was fasting cuz it was Ramadan, and I never sprinted before the comp (e.g sports like football or basketball) in years.
I was really happy with my result considering this was my first ever competition, and I wasn’t even barely ready for it, with basically just one month of training (mainly doing Skips, and some sprints here and there with a Coach).
So my question is how can I start training for sprinting competitively? I love sprinting and I want to get into it but I don’t know where to start.
What workout do I need to do?
How do I periodise a program?
What type of resistance training should I also do?
Any You-tubers to watch?
What shoes do you recommend (both spikes and for training)
I would appreciate any tips and advices on how to bring my time down to around 11.0-10.9s.
