My MHA oc

My MHA oc

Name: Yuro Kurayami

Hero name: Shadowman

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Personality: Yuro is a lazy guy who just wants to take the easy way to any problem, using his quirk to do things for him. He's treats everyone around him in a cold dismissal manner, but those that manages to befriend him are treated more kindly. This even extends to denying help from others, saying he and his shadow can handle it, regardless of if he can or not. He still cares about being a hero and will perform his duties even if he has to force himself too.

Quirk: Shadow's Delegate

Quirk type: Emitter

Description: Yuro's quirk allows him to manifest his own shadow as a living, semi-sentient being naming him Umbra. It can change shapes and sizes, move far from Yuro, hide in the shadows to eavesdrop on enemies and more. Yuro keeps Umbra as a close-quarters weapon, rarely sending it out unless it requires him to do it and in casual times, as a servant.

Weaknesses: Yuro's quirk only effects his own shadow, meaning he has only one shadow to work with. Umbra follows the similar rules to Fumikage's quirk; In light it is weak but controllable, but in darkness its gros in power, but turns feral. Any form of light manipulation whether by quirk or gadget can directly harm Umbra, and shadow manipulation quirks can also affect Umbra as it is a shadow still. If Umbra is destroyed, Yuro would lose a lot of energy and left too tired to fight back as well as being shadowless for a few minutes. Umbra responds to vocal commands by Yuro, so if the two are separated, Umbra will continue the latest command it was given. Lastly, in order to summon Umbra, Yuro needs to cast a shadow. If he's in a pitch-black place and hasn't summoned Umbra, his quirk is disabled.

Backstory: Yuro grew up in a pretty quiet neighborhood, not much happening as far as he can tell. Yuro's quirk manifested around the time most children would get one. At first, it was acted on instinct, appearing to protect Yuro or help him. Despite meaning no harm, everyone else had a more negative reception, thinking his quirk was for villains, not helped either by his appearance changed by his quirk too. As years went by with people giving Yuro a cold shoulder, Yuro in turn became bitter and resolved to rely only on himself and his quirk for.

Trivia: The design and the quirk are based on Gekko Moria from One Piece, the quirk being similar to Gekko's technique Doppleman.
