Hi All,

I have been left in limbo for 3 job opportunities within a department of the OPS for nearly a year now (God bless Doug Ford and this hiring freeze). For 2/3, I have been getting some insider information from friends who work there and understand the complications of what's going on. For 1 section, it's radio silence. Even emails to the hiring managers are ignored, which feels a little disrespectful given the length of time elapsed and the unprecedented circumstances. The job is still very much active too and I was given verbal encouragement at the interview that I'd be chosen. I recently discovered that the boss of the hiring manager and I have met professionally and socially and I was wondering if in your guys opinions as OPS employees, it would be unprofessional or frowned upon to reach out to the boss to ask how this hiring competition is going? I have concerns it'll disappear into the abyss and I'll never hear anything or get feedback from the process to help with future interviews.
