▲ 3 r/stroke

I had a stroke3 weeks ago at 34. Left with left side vision loss (HH). When I left hospital I was given a bag full of meds and no explanation. Managed to figure them out and my summary stars I need a 24hr tape, a heart scan and an orthotics referral. I’ve heard nothing about any of these since leaving hospital, all I’ve received is a letter about a follow up over a he phone in 6-months.

I have a lot of questions in terms of what I can and can’t do, for example I would like to start looking at incorporating some resistance training in my routine again but not sure if I can before knowing if I have a pfo etc. I would also like to know if I can take creatine as I’ve read a few posts about it can be helpful in recovery and it’s something I previously took anyway for training.

Do I just contact my GO about these questions as I don’t have any details for the hospital consultant that treated me.

I have one on my left side and I’m trying to figure out what’s normal and what’s not as there does seem to be charges in my vision every now and again and I don’t know how to distinguish between my brain potentially trying to fill in gaps or repair itself or whether something bad is happening again. Can anyone describe what they were seeing in the weeks/months of it occurring.

▲ 48 r/stroke

Had a stroke on my occipital cortex at 34, lost vision on my left side and an unlikely to ever be able to drive again. Also most of the things I enjoy, running, weight training and boxing training increase blood pressure and potential increase risk so have been advised not to do them for the foreseeable and potential ever as progressing involves pushing yourself.

How did you come to terms with such a big change to your lifestyle, I know I’m lucky because it could’ve been worse but feels like my freedom has been taken, especially with the driving.
