I bought a 3 years old house back in August and the original owners had this lovely flush mount fireplace installed here. The bricks were their natural sand color before I started burning this winter(2 face cords of birch and 2 face cords of black spruce later). Since I won’t be burning until the fall, I figured let’s clean this up nice again. But I can’t get the soot off the stone, I first scrubbed with dish soap and then water, then twice I’ve sprayed down with Imperial glass and masonry cleaner and scrubbed with a sponge. It doesn’t seem like I’m getting anything off. Is there some tricks to getting this stuff clean again??
