Unusual locking mechanism
Hello! My apartment has a patio door with an unusual (I think) locking system. The building said the doors were custom and the manufacturer has gone out of business. I am seeking advice on what this kind of locking mechanism is, and whether the handle could be replaced to allow me to lock it from the outside. (All my neighbors’ identical doors have outside locks, I think mine must have been replaced with a balcony door handle at some point.) I’m trying to get my building to come up with a solution, but if they won’t, I’m wondering if this is something that I could afford to do myself with a local locksmith.
I can’t seem to upload a video, but the first two photos show the two positions on the door’s track where the mechanism slides up and down when the handle is turned. The oblong protruding shapes (of which there are 5 along the length of the track) catch the hooks along a track inside the door frame (3rd photo). The actual interior twist lock seems merely to inhibit the door handle turning. The last three photos show stickers that appear to indicate the manufacturer, but I haven’t been able to find any trace of them online.
Any help, advice, or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!
