Walmart doesn't have oil filters for your oil change

TL;DR: The Walmart chain doesn't have oil filters for your oil change. At all. Anywhere in the store or in the shop.

I would never take my car to Walmart for anything significant for the car, but I thought maybe they could handle a quick oil change. I scheduled it *last week* for today. Showed up to check in, and the guy spent ten minutes wandering around, looking for something (he didn't specify what), only to come back to say they don't have the oil filter they need. He then said, "You can go to Auto Zone or somewhere to get one and bring it back, though." Yeah, okay. I'll also take scissors, shampoo, and a hair dryer next time I go get my hair cut.

I thought, why would they KNOW I'm coming and not make sure they have everything for when I show up? After some googlin', it looks like Walmart lost their contract with the supplier and/or there's a shortage of filters (who knows what's true), and yet, from what I saw in multiple posts from various states, they never bother to tell people that tidbit of info until *after* they show up for the scheduled oil change, like I did, or after Walmart has held the car for an hour when folks show up for an unscheduled oil change. In every instance, they say to go somewhere else to get a filter and come back.

The academy award goes to the BSer who wandered around for ten minutes, acting like he didn't know they were out. Nice touch.
