Still no go, ​​​​​​​also although probably core related, Yabasanshiro will not render shader if rendering resolution is set higher than 640 x 480. I tried playing with several settings inside retroarch and tried switching to open gl, no change. I'm considering rolling back but I am so happy to play the so rare Hyper NeoGeo 64 games via Mame with working sound finally.​​​​​​​
