I’m trying to find an Urban Christian fiction book my mother gave me years ago. I don’t remember the title, but I remember the story very clearly and I’d really love to find it again.
The main character’s name is Charlotte. She loses her job and has a lot of unresolved issues with her stepmother — she believes the stepmother broke up her parents’ marriage, but later learns the stepmother actually loves her.
Charlotte is engaged to a man named Eric. She makes a vow to God that she won’t have sex with him anymore. Because of the tension between them, Eric ends up going on a cruise without her.
While Charlotte is trying to get her life together, she goes back to her childhood church and runs into a man named Keith, who becomes important in her spiritual and emotional journey.
The book was a standalone paperback, not part of a series that I can recall. The cover had illustrated characters (drawn artwork, not real photos). It was definitely Urban Christian Fiction — no hood or street elements. I don't have the option in asking my mother. And I've done book searches, google and amazon searches. I even went to Barns and Noble looking for this book
