Federal petition for WFH rights hits 18000 signatures!

Hey everyone, sharing my parliamentary petition to modernize the Canada Labour Code to help protect hybrid work and give eligible employees the ability to work from home a few days a week.

Many corporations are enforcing arbitrary return-to-office mandates, despite remote/hybrid work helping reduce emissions, support people with disabilities and caregivers, and honestly just giving people a little more peace and quiet and balance in their lives.

If that resonates with you, come check out the petition:

Hi everybody, I just wanted to share news of my petition that Ive started in Canada. I think a lot of people here might be interested to learn about it.

As you know, many employers are revoking work from home privileges. In my case, I have worked from home three days a week or more since 2017. I live in Toronto, where the cost of living is really high and the commute and transit is really rough. On a good day it can take over an hour to get to Toronto from Toronto.

So I’ve put petition E – 7142 together it’s got just over 12,000 signatures and will be read in our parliament. The goal of the petition is to update the Canada labour code to protect hybrid work, giving employees the ability to work from home a few days a week.

If you love working from home and you are Canadian, come check it out. I would love to hear about what’s going on in your community re/wfh

10000 signatures for hybrid work!!

we hit 10,000 signatures, honestly didn’t expect it to move this fast. this started as a simple idea and now it’s picking up real momentum, appreciate everyone who signed, shared, or even just followed along. work has changed, our laws… not so much. if you’re just seeing this, it’s about updating the labour code to better reflect hybrid work. sign if you agree, share it to keep it moving. and to the trolls, in the spirit of Cardi B, keep talking about it… every click still helps.

Petition exceeds 8600 signatures today!

We crossed 8,600 signatures today, kinda wild. Huge thanks to PSAC for sharing it with their members. Even if this doesnt directly impact your job, progress in one area tends to open the door for others. If you havent checked it out yet, it’s about updating the labour code to better reflect hybrid work. Sign if you agree, share if you can.

On a dépassé 8 600 signatures aujourd’hui, quand même fou. Signe si t’es d’accord, partage si tu peux.

We just hit 6,000 signatures on our petition to protect hybrid work in Canada, and we’re not even halfway to the deadline.

6,000 Canadians have already signed because they believe hybrid work matters. It gives people flexibility, supports families, and lets people actually focus without spending hours commuting for no reason.

The goal is simple: update the Canadian Labour Code to recognize hybrid work and give employees the right to work from home a few days a week.

If you care about flexibility and don’t want to lose it, now’s the time to keep this moving. Share it, talk about it, and keep the momentum going.

Today was a really solid work-from-home day.

I started the morning going through emails, then moved straight from my team huddle into a training session. No rushing around, no waiting for elevators, no trying to find a room. Just clicked into the next call and kept going.

The afternoon was exactly what you want when you actually need to get things done. I worked on reporting and some testing, and I could just focus. No interruptions, no background chatter, no one stopping by for a quick question that turns into a whole conversation.

Lunch actually felt like a break. I heated up some leftovers, then spent about 20 minutes outside in the backyard playing with my dog. It was nice to step away properly instead of just eating at my desk.

Around 3, I made a coffee, went outside again for a quick 10-minute break with the dog, then came back upstairs and finished up my work. The rest of the afternoon stayed quiet. No meetings, no distractions. Just natural light from the window and my dog hanging out nearby.

I wrapped up at 5:30, went straight to the grocery store, and was back home by 6. No traffic, no delays, no stress.

Days like this just make everything easier. You can focus when you need to, take real breaks, and still get everything done.

Back in the office tomorrow for the next three days, and I already know I’m going to miss the quiet, the window, and having my dog around.

If you like working from home a couple days a week too, come check out my petition to save hybrid work. In just a few short weeks has gathered to over 5800 signatures. Keep signing and sharing, hybrid work let’s go! 🎉🎉

The last couple days in the office have been rough.

It’s been dark and overcast outside, so we’re stuck under harsh fluorescent lighting all day. By mid-afternoon my eyes are strained, I’m exhausted, and I’ve got a headache brewing. And this isn’t some ancient building. It’s less than five years old. Why are we still designing offices like this?

We know this kind of lighting is hard on people. It’s not comfortable, it’s not natural, and it definitely doesn’t make anyone more productive. If companies actually want people to come into the office and not resent it, then make it somewhere worth being.

Right now, it feels like the opposite. Dark outside, artificial glare inside, zero adjustment for how people actually feel during the day.

If the office is supposed to be the better place to work, it should be designed like it.

Why not warm ambient lighting? Why not dimmers that adjust based on daylight? Why not environments that don’t leave people with headaches by 3 pm?

You wanna know a great place that has natural daylight and controllable ambient lighting? My home office. I have big light, I have a lamp. I can adjust my own thermostat. My washroom is 10 feet away and I don’t have to share it with anybody. At the office, sometimes there’s a line just to use the washroom. If you have to go urgently, that’s not just inconvenient, it’s ridiculous.

At home it’s quiet, comfortable, and actually functional. No overcrowding, no constant noise. I don’t need to wear earbuds all day just to focus. I can throw on my favourite album in the background while I work. I’m comfortable, I’m focused, and I’m not dealing with unnecessary friction.

If you feel the same way about working from home, check out and sign my petition to save hybrid work in Canada.

Ps. Too mentally drained to spell edition correctly. I tried.

Just hit 5,000 signatures on my petition.

If you love working from home and you love what you do, this is for you.

The goal is simple: update the labour code to protect hybrid work. No fluff, just making sure decisions are based on actual job requirements instead of blanket policies.

It’s been live for about 3 weeks and it’s growing on its own now, which tells me this is something people actually care about.

If you’re interested, check it out and sign/share if it resonates.
