I'm suspicious of the authenticity of the Order of the Red Star on the right. Not as detailed and it just has a different 'feel' to it

  1. 10 kopecks (1969) 2 1 ruble (1987) and 5 ruble coins (1990 & 1991)
  2. Two Orders of the Red Star
  3. Excellent Soviet Army Soldier badge and Order of the Badge of Honour
  4. Young Pioneer & Shock Worker of Communist Labour pins, Komsomol badge

I emailed and asked a man who has/had a dedicated site to Soviet headwear about its authenticity a few years back, and he replied with this:

"This is a militia general's parade cap - as you thought. However, as you also saw, it was not made at the normal Moscow factory where general caps were usually made. I have never seen such a marking on a general's cap but it is "possible" that this Leningrad factory made this one specially for a police general. However, it is also possible that this is a post-1991 reproduction. However, since I have never seen reproductions marked like this either - I think it is more likely that this was an authentic cap just custom-made at this Leningrad factory. It does have the very high quality embroidery and the "generals-grade" chin cords made with 5% gold - so that also makes it more likely to be authentic."
