Hey r/Jacksonville,
A while back we asked the question to the community about how you all wanted us to handle AI content on the subreddit. The response was clear and overwhelming: AI ain't welcome 'round these parts.
So effective immediately, the following are not allowed on r/Jacksonville:
- AI generated imagery including event flyers, memes, photography, artwork, or anything else produced by an image generation tool. (Using Photoshop or similar to remove or make slight alterations, and we mean slight, will be allowed.)
- AI generated text including posts, comments, and replies written in whole or in part by a generative AI tool.
- AI assisted projects including vibe coded websites, apps, browser extensions, or any other project where generative AI did the heavy lifting.
- Any other generative AI content regardless of the use case or how it's framed.
This subreddit has always been about real people talking about real Jacksonville life, and that's how y'all want to keep it. We're just here to make sure that happens. We are aware we will be targeted first during the upcoming clanker wars. This is a sacrifice we are willing to make for the community.
If you see something that looks like it belongs in this category, report it and we'll take a look. We won't always catch everything but we'll do our best.
Thanks to everyone who weighed in. This was your call and we're glad you made it.
