Hey! I find myself in need of some handheld games but due to current life circumstances I am much more picky about what I will play:

- no open world, choose your own gameplay.

Normally I love Pokopia, Animal Crossing, Minecraft etc., but I am too drained so they feel overwhelming. I start them up, do a little daily grind, can't decide what I want to do next and put them down again.

- no long games.

I just tried Two Point Museum but it feels like a long commitment. I want the sense of satisfaction of finishing games, not feeling like I have a major project ahead of me. I have enough of those IRL!

Roguelikes are an exception to this somehow. Why? I don't know, maybe because as I finish a run it gives a sense of satisfaction, and each time I pick it up I'm starting a new run? It doesn't feel overwhelming like a long commitment somehow. I can put Balatro down for weeks and not feel like I've abandoned it, or like I need to remember what I was doing when I pick it up for an evening.

- no games that I'd want to play on my PC instead.

Minami lane was a nightmare on the deck trying to find the tiny details. If I'm playing on the steam deck, I want a game that shines there.

- examples of what has worked:

Wytchwood (loved!), Winter Burrow (loved!), Tiny Sticker Tale (ok), Sticky Business (ok).

Thank you!!
