Hello everyone, my goal is to start applying for the navy in the cyber field once turn 18. Right now am a high school junior taking dual credit. plan to do a 10 year contract and a career ladder starting from CTR for years 1-3 then CWT for years 4-7 then IT-ATF for years 8-10. Since I am a Muslim and want to maintain my religious lifestyle, I don't want to engage in interest, so I plan to do this three bank system for the navy:
Navy Federal (NFCU): only use this for direct deposit meaning only use this to receive a paycheck.
Stearns Salaam Banking: I use this for every day spending that I get from NFCU and save the money in a "'Salaam Profit-Link Market Savings" account where I could grow my money in a 'clean" way.
University Islamic Financial (UIF): This is where most of my savings is, I link my Salaam banking account to this and I transfer most of my money into this so that all have left is money for daily necessities. I use that money in this bank to have my house down-payment ready.
l'd like to know if you have any advice on what and how can prepare for things like getting the job I want, MEPS, ASVAB, recruiters, boot camp, finance, freedom to practice my religion in the Navy without compromise, etc. I'm trying to take whatever I can to prepare for a good, debt free, future.
PS.: I'm in a situation where I can't really tell anyone about my plans since they might judge and be against it to the point where they might try stopping me so I'm waiting for the right moment and preparing what can do to move forward without any problems without compromising on my beliefs.
