Hello!
Currently driving a 2016 Focus hatchback, its at 240k KM and starting to have rust develop so I am looking for a new car. Focus has given me some of the notorious focus problems so I want something sporty and reliable. I also live in Canada and my Focus has struggled enough in the winters that I am considering a AWD. Just looking for a small car as I only need it for myself. Also prefer hatchbacks as I just like their styling and additional cargo space better.
I was looking into getting a Mazda 3 GT AWD for my daily commute, but then looking at the cost I realized I could afford the Turbo on top of that (plus the additional red leather interior which is apparently exclusive to the Turbo in Canada looks amazing). Also Canada seems to get a unlimited mileage warranty which is another thing that is nudging me towards Mazda.
I wanted to know how reliable you guys are finding your turbo Mazda 3's. For reference I drive about 125km total every day , 5 days a week so around 30k Km minimum a year. So I need something that can reliably start up and get going every single day for the next 5-6 years as this will be my only car.
Also how do you guys find the AWD system. I can end up driving through some rough country roads on my commute and this is Canada so it needs to handle the snow somewhat well. I will be getting dedicated winter tires regardless of whatever car I end up going with.
Are there any other Cars that I should be considering?
Thank you!
