Who was Jovita Idar?
Jovita Idár (1885–1946) was a pioneering Mexican-American journalist, activist, and teacher from Texas who fought for civil rights, women's suffrage, and educational reform in the early 20th century. She famously defied Texas Rangers to protect her newspaper, El Progreso, and founded La Liga Femenil Mexicanista (League of Mexican Women).
Found in a Roll of Quarters
Found this in a roll of quarters I got for laundry. Love the details on her dress and the complete uniqueness of it. I’ve never seen this quarter before anyone know anything about it?
Jovita Idar Quarter
Hey, just found this quarter in my desk, never seen anything that looks like it haha. Is this worth anything?
Is this worth anything
The quarter look interesting to me just wondering if it holds any value other than 25 cent ofc
Felt odd in my hand when a clerk handed it to me
Anyone can tell me more about this quarter? It’s noticeably lighter than a regular quarter. Never seen one before
