I was thinking of attending UMich MS MSE for Fall 2026 and was considering to submit and intent to enroll by the May 1st deadline. However, I was a bit concerned about the cost as I am an out-of state student and am pretty daunted by the fees of UMich. I was able to go to do my undergrad with zero/minimal debt and I am getting some pretty low interest rates due to a good credit score.

Anyways, In consideration of the general landscape of the cuts and the general trend of reducing/defunding academia how does funded TA/RA opportunities look like at UMich according to your all's experiences.
