Are investors too impatient with early-stage companies?

One thing I notice often in small-cap investing is how quickly expectations rise after short-term momentum appears.
But most developing companies need time to scale operations, improve revenue consistency, and build long-term credibility. Markets move fast, while business growth usually takes much longer.

Digital-first companies still seem to be taking market share everywhere

Interesting seeing how companies like $HIMS, $TROO, $SOFI, and a few other emerging names are all applying digital-first models to industries that traditionally moved much slower.

Whether it’s healthcare, finance, or consumer services, the common theme seems to be convenience, accessibility, and building communities online before scaling further.

Some of the larger names already have strong recognition, but I think the smaller emerging companies are sometimes more interesting because they’re still early in shaping their long-term identity and growth path.

Curious which digital-first companies people here think still have the biggest upside over the next few years.

What makes a speculative stock worth following even without owning it?

I don’t think every interesting company necessarily needs to become an investment.

Sometimes following speculative situations can still be useful because you get to observe:

how narratives develop,

how markets react to uncertainty,

how sentiment changes around filings and news,

and how liquidity impacts price action.

What kinds of companies or sectors do you follow mainly for educational purposes rather than investment reasons?
