I’m a 3D artist doing freelance modeling on a part time basis. I have a regular client who is always asking for revisions. At first, I thought the problem was me. I assumed I wasn’t doing the work properly. So I kept trying to improve and match his concept as accurately as possible.
But over time, I noticed that no matter how well I match the project to his concept, there is always a revision.
The worst part is, he expects updates immediately. So whatever I’m working on at the time, I have to drop everything and focus on his project.
Recently, I started tracking my time, and I realized that about half of the total project time is spent on revisions.
Now I’m stuck. I don’t know what to do, keep the client or drop them. I’d like to keep the client because the income is steady, but working on these projects can be mentally exhausting at times.
Is this normal with some clients?
Or is it a lack of clear direction on their side?
Or should I be charging differently for revisions? (I asked once, but he blamed me for not doing good work.)
Curious to know how you guys handle this.
