Hi

My PPF was at SBI. Renewed twice in 5 year blocks. For some reasons, forgot to add any money in PPF in last two years. It got matured this year on March 31.

Now sbi is saying I can not regularise it and I have to close and open new ppf. This means me losing around 35 lac interest free income generating asset. Is there a rule that if my account is irregularized and it gets matured, I can not pay penalty and regularise it and renew it thereafter?
