Pretty sure it’s the original heads. I think it’s a late 80s or early 90s maybe, looks great with my wmp DWs.

This was my Christmas present back in 1996, a 13” Lawton custom piccolo snare. It’s been in storage for years. I got it out today and tuned it up. Still sounds great, a nice ping to it, with just fantastic rimshots.

I was in high school when I got it, was able to pick out the finish and some other parts, but I don’t remember what all they were. I think I have the receipt to it somewhere.

Love this snare, I need to use it more. Anyone else familiar with Lawton drums?
