I just picked up a 1998 Z3 2.8l, with one of the biggest issues being that there is a very poor quality aftermarket exhaust on it with no resonator, so it has a heavy drone and is way too loud. Ideally, I'd like to swap it out with an OEM muffler, as I need something quiet, however, the 1998 and before mufflers are few and far between.

Does anyone know if the 1999-2000 post-facelift exhausts will fit and work on a 1998? They seem to have the same (or similar) mounts, just a different looking muffler itself. There's very little information online about it, besides that the part no. of the 96-98 is 18101436554 and the 99-00 is 18107500206.

Also, if anyone's selling a 98 2.8L oem exhaust in the Bay Area, lemme know!
