If you go to visit Rudy in the hospital in Chapter 1, you can listen to Noelle talking with Rudy about the Dragon Blazers game.
She mentions that she is still at the ice palace and that she is waiting to finish the game with him.
Rudy says that maybe she shouldn't wait (probably saying that he is dying)
Then he tells Noelle to bring it here next time which sure happens in Chapter 2
What if this was all foreshadowing that Rudy will die at some point and Noelle shouldn't wait and brings the game (Ice Palace) to the Hospital (she opens a Dark Fountain to save Rudy) in the end of Chapter 5.
And that way we can expect what to happen based the events in the Sword game we play in Chapter 3
