A lot of Utopianism feels like it’s definitely out of the realm of possibility, but part of the reason I love solarpunk is that it doesn’t really require magical tech to work. And yet it feels like it’s never going to happen because the current power structures make it pretty much impossible. We’ve given corporations to much power and influence, here in the US at least, and they’re all to short sighted and greedy to figure out that destroying the earth and everyone’s lives for short term profit is suicidally stupid. And don’t get me started on the weapons industry and the government
