Why haven’t there been strikes?
It’s been a while since the last set of strikes, and this upcoming May bank holiday week seems like the perfect time to do it with the current political climate and the timing with bank holidays. We also need to keep a momentum going which I feel is so crucial to continued pressure so that talks go ahead and the government doesn’t feel like they can take their foot off the pedal in terms of getting this sorted.
I appreciate that communicating possible dates for the strikes in advance is probably a bad idea because it’ll allow hospitals/politicians to prepare themselves with extra notice, but I feel like there’s been barely any communication at all from the BMA?
What do people think the likelihood are that strikes will go ahead at the end of this month versus continued silence?
