My roommate decided to pack our dryer to the gills last load. Tried to run a load this morning and the dryer is thumping/vibrating excessively. Loud thump about once every rotation
Doing minimal research I figured I’d be in for new drum rollers, idler pulley and belt replacement.
Dryer is a gas whirlpool. 3 standard knobs then the left hand side has the “wrinkle” knob. I can get pictures/model numbers need be.
When I tore it apart I found the left drum roller barely rotates. The idler pulley has a solid black line across it like the belt was digging in.
However I noticed the burner chamber looks a little more charred than I assume it should. Is this a major issue?
I’m already planning on cleaning the dryer vent leading to the external wall. Clean up all the lint I can see.
