Can’t even afford to hope

So I’ve been looking for work since I finished school for about 4 months or so (changing careers from culinary to HR/Administrative) and barely even get rejection letters/emails, much less even a response. Just applied to the humane society, and in 10 mins I went from applied to additional questions to rejected.

Felt a little defeated, so I made my way to circle k and grabbed a lottery ticket for lotto max tonight just to give myself something to even daydream about (cant win if you don’t play, right?) I’ve spent $11 on a ticket since it first came out years ago (not that I’m an avid player, just easier to remember) and got informed that the price went up. Even lotteries are hiking their prices!

As my title states: it’s gotten so bad you can’t even afford to be hopeful. I know the odds are about as good as getting hit by lightning 2X and surviving, but still I grab one cause hey; what if, right?
