Tarsal Tunnel Release

A few years ago I started to have pain on the instep and bottom of both feet. At first it only happened if I was on my feet all day. But it has progressively gotten worse, now walking around the grocery store is torture. I went to my GP and then a podiatrist he recommended. He diagnosed me with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. Since my diagnosis six months ago, I have had 3 shots or cortisone in both heels, several rounds of 'Shock Wave' therapy, I have bought a very expensive pair of Hokas, new compression socks, I stretch my feet three times a day. And I am still in so much pain. It's affecting my quality of life, I feel like an old man at 47. I have an appointment with my podiatrist coming up, should I bring up the possibility of Tarsal Tunnel release? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!
