Hey all, wanted to share the sad news I just found out.
To make a long story short, I applied during the 08/05/2026 F32 cycle and was reviewed in 12/18/2025. The review group had very positive comments and I scored 15th percentile and had an impact score of 29.
After a few months of silence, I reached out to the PO about any update and got this email:
"Hi,
NIGMS F32 funding is very competitive, and unfortunately, yours is not currently selected or funding. We do consider funding additional awards at the end of the fiscal year; however, I recommend revising the application based on reviewer comments and submitting as a new application for the August 8^(th) deadline if you wish to continue pursuing F32 support."
Does anyone know what could have happened here? Is it worth reaching out to the PO again to seek more information?
