My theory of why V1 grants immortality
I’ve had this idea for a while and just wanted to get it out there before it’s presumably debunked next episode lol.
So V1 is stated to be a more volatile version of the formula, to the point it kills almost every single person who takes it. Then for some reason every supe that takes it seems to get immortality as a power, and they almost all have ultra durability too.
My theory is that V1 is so volatile that it rapidly breaks down and destroys the body of whoever takes it, and the only way to survive is by rolling a power that gives the ability to regenerate harm, which also lets you regenerate from aging. So V1 actually doesn’t have any higher change of making you immortal than V2, it just kills everyone who doesn’t get immortality as a power.
Now when homelander takes V1, it will work differently. His already super durable body will be able to withstand being destroyed by the V1, but he won’t become immortal, since if he had the propensity to get that power from the formula he would already have it. (People seem to get the same powers from V every time as seen with Kimiko) Instead it will still degrade his body, but slowly, rapidly increasing his aging process and making him desperate.
