Hi, so I'm a historical reenactor and a flutist. My group covers from about 1665 to 1750. I want to play the traverso when we are doing events, but most of them take place outside in summer, and we sleep outside in an historical campsite : a lot of heat and humidity. I need to find a traverso that could withstand those kinds of conditions. The best would be wood to stay historically accurate but It would probably be flute-abuse to have it endure those kinds of conditions. Maybe some cases could protect from that? My second and more realistic option is to buy one made from plastic or to find someone to 3D print one with a filament containing wood. I have a little bit of experience with taking care of wooden flute since I have a grenadilla wood headjoint and a piccolo from the same type of wood. Can anyone help me with this?
