Currently looking at Panasonic's UE-20/30/40/50, and saw some comments on the web that Panasonic is not compatible with Mac?

Is that true or not? If it isn't, it would help if i could get some comments on this part.

My current budget is around $3-5k, and I'm looking at Panasonic's UE20/30/40/50, & Canon CR-N300. I was wondering if its possible to mount a pole to the ceiling, and drop it down where my PTZ Camera will be at.
