I don’t know if this is just me, but I feel like I’ve restarted the gym like 10 times at this point.I’ll be consistent for a couple weeks, start feeling good, then miss a few days and somehow that turns into not going at all.

What’s weird is I actually like training. It’s just the consistency part that keeps falling apart. For people who’ve been at it for a while, what actually helped you break that cycle? Was it discipline, routine, or just time?

I’ve been lurking here for a bit and finally decided to start taking this seriously.

Not completely new to the gym, but I’ve been super inconsistent. I’ll go hard for like 2–3 weeks, then life happens, diet goes off, and everything just falls apart again.

One thing I’ve started realizing (the hard way) is that training alone doesn’t do much if your diet is trash. Like I used to think as long as I’m sweating and lifting, I’m making progress… but honestly, without proper eating, it feels like I’m just maintaining at best.

So this time I’m trying to keep it simple:

3–4 days lifting (nothing fancy, mostly basic compound stuff)

trying to stay active on off days

and actually paying attention to what I eat instead of just guessing

Not going for anything crazy, just want to build a routine I can stick to long term.

Curious what made things click for you guys? Was it diet, consistency, or something else?
