Two days ago my dog started excessively chewing on her tail. She whines when she does it. She has chewed it so much that there is a bald spot there now. Our vet can’t see her until Monday. I hate seeing her so miserable though. She’s never done anything like this before. I’ve checked her over several times for fleas and can’t find any or any flea debris. She’s never had any health issues before.
I haven’t used any new shampoos or anything new at home that I think would be causing an allergic reaction.
It might be worth noting that she was in heat last week (she has an appointment to be fixed in June.)
I’ve been using an oatmeal soothing cream on it and I’ve tried hot spot spray. Neither seem to be working. Any advice is appreciated. I can’t stand the thought of her being miserable until they see her on Monday.
