I recently saw a house where the owners were present during showing. It’s an old house with colonial finishes and my husband and I loved it. We put in an offer and unfortunately found out that was another offer similar to ours but with terms the owners liked better (more down payment, buying right away and letting current owners live rent free until they find a house.) We were devastated as we felt this was our house and we loved everything about it. It’s still listed as active a little over a week after we were told they accepted the other offer. Does it take that long to accept a contract? Also my main reason for writing is is it weird to write the seller a thank you note for showing us their house? They took us around and showed us the house and all the updates they made and told us the history of the house. Our realtor said letters from potential buyers aren’t really done anymore.
