This is from my personal experience and it could help someone else out there . Starting from the beginning I’m a plumber by trade and one day both my knees were itching very badly to the point i couldn’t sleep at night without constant scratching and taking showers for relief. After seeing my primary doctor he determined it as a mite infection caused by my line of work. After using many different creams , steroids and antibiotics there was no improvement or relief in a 5 month period . So I was recommended to a dermatologist. The first thing she recommended was a biopsy. When the biopsy came back it came with a result of no infection or bacteria present. So she treated it as folliculitis. Again after months of different treatments with creams , pills and injections there was no relief. Until one day I noticed small trails which seemed to be under my skin by my ankle I mentioned to my dermatologist about what I saw and she determined that the trail looked in fact to be a hookworm and it had no relation to my knee folliculitis
. She put me on a 7 day anti parasitic medication and low and behold my knee scratching has stopped in the first 3 days which I have not had any type of relief in 9 months and on day 7 the trails on my ankle were turning brown not bright red like they once were. The type of bumps on my knees were hard and very itchy and red. Here are some pictures below of what I went through and hope this helps someone one day as for when I was looking for relief I couldn’t find what I was going through.
