I finished treatment recently and just had my first screening mammogram on the non-cancer side (had a mastectomy on cancer side so no more mammograms there yay). The mammogram was totally normal, no signs of cancer. But my oncologist still wants me to have a screening ultrasound?

Is this normal? I thought I’d just be having mammograms and MRIs alternating every 6 months for now. Has anyone else also had ultrasounds for screening? Even after normal mammograms?

I just turned 27 and have dense breast tissue so maybe that’s why? Just wondering if this is normal. Sounds triggering to go back to the ultrasound room, last time I was in there I was told I had cancer!
