When did you decide to be stay at home mom? What did you consider? Was it temporary or long term?
I recently got laid off due to the tech sector lay off season this year. Since childcare became expensive, I got to spend time with my little one and have been thinking about taking time to be with the baby till the baby is one or maybe two years old. However I am hearing opinions for both sides - where “the world and AI is moving so rapidly that career break is not a good idea” to “they will never be so little and need you so much”. So I want to hear from real people, real stories of parents who have been stay at home parents. What factors did you consider? What opportunities or options did you weigh? What planning or preparation should I do? What should I mentally (and physically or financially) prepare for to be a stay at home parent?
How long is too long to stay at home? Did you go back? Did you switch careers?
