Hey everyone,

I'll keep this honest because I genuinely need real feedback, not encouragement.

A bit about me: I'm 27, based in Mumbai, India. I have 5 years of professional experience in presentation design and data visualization. Last year I completed the Google UX Design Professional Certificate on Coursera.

I want to switch to UX/Product Design. I've been trying for a while now.

Here's where it gets frustrating: I've worked on two self-initiated UX projects — a gaming e-commerce app (GhostLabs) and a full redesign of IRCTC Rail Connect, India's most used train booking app. I conducted real user interviews, ran usability tests, documented my process end to end. I'm not just pushing pixels — I'm trying to do this properly.

But here's what keeps happening: I apply, I get shortlisted for assessments, I complete them and submit, and then, silence. No feedback. No rejection email. I've sent multiple follow-up emails. Nothing. It's been months of this and honestly it's starting to feel like I'm missing something obvious that everyone else can see but me.

Specific questions I have:

  1. Does my visual execution look junior compared to what companies expect?
  2. What would make you close the tab if you were a recruiting manager?

Thank you to anyone who takes the time. It means more than you know.
