Hi! I am a graduate student in the USA who is travelling to China later this year. I am starting the process of obtaining my Chinese visa and was looking for advice from those of y'all who have done it before.

I live a long way from any of the US consulates. However, I have a friend who lives in one of the cities with a consulate. Is it possible to have another person (not an agent) submit my application materials on my behalf?

I have been researching the various Visa services that you can use to get a visa through the mail. Any suggestions for reliable visa services that can help me obtain one without making a major trip to one of the consulates? What cost is generally associated with these types of services?

I will be in China for a little over 2 weeks studying at NAU. Has anyone else studied abroad for this length of time in China? Did you get a student visa or a tourism visa?

Thanks in advance. This thread has been helpful in my planning.

Hello friends! I'm a graduate medical student and I've been accepted for a scholarship to travel to Nanjing for 2 weeks this summer. I've travelled internationally before but never to Asia.

I would love any advice about booking flights, navigating Chinese airports, what to pack, using services to obtain a Chinese visa, etc. etc. etc.

Included a photo of my cat for some extra pizzaz
